On Wednesday, we visited the museum Löwentor, a wonderful museum of prehistoric life with a magnificent and beautiful collection of local fossils, many of them hundreds of millions of years old. We got a glimpse of it last year, but this year we wanted more time to linger.

There is a children's picture book that looks something like this on the cover, but right now I can't recall the name. (ETA: A friend reminded me: Imogene's Antlers.)
By the way, the oldest discovered sculpture of a human form (a female form), around 35,000 years old, was found just recently in the Stuttgart area (southwestern Germany). We hope to find out whether it is on display somewhere.
